Athens Photo World 2026
Sport Photography Award

@Angelos Zymaras

Athens Photo World adds another competition to its activities and will award the amount of €1,500 to the winner.

Submissions open until February 6, 2026

Always aiming to showcase and promote the work of photographers and photojournalists and to familiarize the public with contemporary photojournalism and its contribution when history is being written, APW contributes in its own way to encouraging and elevating photographers’ work and supporting their ability to remain dedicated to their craft and vision.

The judge will change every year. For 2026, the acclaimed sports photographer Angelos Zymaras will evaluate and select the best sports photograph.

Interested participants are invited to submit up to three (3) sports photographs, together with a caption and a short biography, to info@apw.gr

Submission of entries opened on Tuesday, January 20, and ends on Friday, December 6 at 23:59 (Greece time).

The winner will be announced on Sunday, March 1, during the Athens Photo World Awards ceremony, as part of the two‑day digital projections at Technopolis of the City of Athens.

Participation in the competition for the Athens Photo World 2026 Sports Photography Award is free of charge.
